Episode 20 – Ministering to Those with Special Needs

I hope this episode challenges you as it challenged me.  My guest Carolyn Campbell shares her experience and wisdom in ministering to those with special needs, whether intellectually or physically disabled.  Carolyn has worked to not only reach those who are disabled with the love of Jesus but she has also served to equip and train the church to received and incorporate the disabled into our church bodies.  Her words are encouraging, challenging, and thought-provoking.  I pray that you will listen and be challenged to step outside your comfort zone and reach out to a people group and their families who often feel forgotten.
Some of the topics we cover are:
Do the special needs people need to hear of God’s love for them or do they get a “free pass”?
What does the Bible say about those who have a disability?
Are special needs families being ministered to?
How can we support and encourage both the families and the special needs people themselves?
Key Verse: Colossians 3:12 You are God’s chosen people. You are holy and dearly loved. So put on tender mercy and kindness as if they were your clothes. Don’t be proud. Be gentle and patient. (NIRV)
